SINGLE REVIEW: COVE - ALL I BELIEVE
This is a great time to be alive if you are a British Hardcore fan. With the likes of 'Palm Reader' and 'Feed The Rhino' finally getting their dues and a whole roster of new and exciting bands such as 'Canvas', 'Employed To Serve' and 'Svalbard' emerging every other day; we are spoilt for choice.
Looking to add their name to the ever expanding list of emerging artists is Kent based quintet 'COVE'. Their 2016 debut EP 'We Were Once Lost' was a hard hitting seven track record of savage math riffs and unkempt rage. Since then they have changed vocalists and gained a lot more experience on the road supporting prolific bands such as 'Sikth' and 'Feed The Rhino'.
New track 'All I Believe' is the new single for upcoming sophomore EP 'A Conscious Motion' and it is clear from the outset that COVE have picked up a few tricks over the last few years. New vocalist Ben Shorten brings a strong command over dynamics to the table which is used to dazzling effect during the haunting clean melody of the verses and powerful screams of the chorus. Meanwhile, the rest of the band are on great form as well as guitarist Ben Brazier and bassist Charlie Smith alternate between who takes control of the verses. Drummer Jack Bowdery keeps everything held tightly together throughout.
With their first headline tour approaching and a new EP on the way, the future looks bright for COVE who show that they are more than worthy of standing alongside their contemporaries.
